2nd Annual Charity Badminton Event Donate I'm fundraising for The Walton Centre Charity because I have recently had my 4th successful neurosurgery here. I ran this event last year and it was so well attended, with a fantastic raffle and even better atmospheres and feedback. Myself and the club have decided to make it an annual event, with trophies to hand out each year to winners and to engrave names on to keep track over the years. We are so excited for the second year of this event! My journey in the Walton Centre is not over and I know I will be in the safest hands in terms of care, treatment and support whenever I return. Whatever my future looks like for my neurological health, my journey with my shunt and my Chianti malformation ( and also what future surgeries are required) I know I’ll be able to face it with the best support behind me. This event is a fun day to provide for the people closest to me to enjoy whilst raising money for this amazing charity, it’s the perfect combination and I’m honoured to be running it again! The home from home is an incredible area of this hospital and this year (for the 3rd time) provided a close place for my family to stay to be able to support me as I recovered from a chair I decompression surgery. This made a huge positive impact on what was an already very difficult time for me and my family. The Walton Centre in Liverpool offers a world class neuroscience service which includes many pioneering techniques, cutting edge treatments; and clinicians who are international leaders in their field. Over 100,000 patients are treated at the hospital each year with conditions ranging from head and spinal trauma injuries; brain and spine tumours; Epilipsy, MS, Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinson. The Charity funds a variety of projects in the hospital including research, innovation, new technology and patient & family facilities.
