Hello I’m Mallory,

If you don’t already know, I have had the privilege to be on placement at the walton centre for 7 weeks which has change my mindset indefinitely on how important it is to be grateful for being able to move your body freely and independently.

During my 7 weeks at the walton centre I had the opportunity to care for lots of patients with severe conditions and complications that I could of never imagined. Being able to be firsthand behind the scenes of the support that is needed to rehabilitate the patients and give the family the support they need in these tough times has been astonishing and because of the charity these families are able to stay in a home away from home when needed to be close to their loved ones in times of uncertainty and stress meaning they are close by to their family and don’t have to worry each evening about where they will be resting their head which gives them strength to pass on to patients.

Over 100,000 patients are treated at the hospital each year with conditions ranging from head and spinal trauma injuries; brain and spine tumours; Epilipsy, MS, Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinson.

The Walton centre charity makes a huge difference and I want to too. That is why I will be walking 100,000 steps in May (maybe even more) to raise money which will support the families of patient s.

Anything you donate would make a huge difference I will be tracking my progress online via TikTok @mallory1342 if you would like to keep up to date with my walking as the target is 100,000 but I would really like to push it to as much as I am capable of! Thank you for your support.
