As many of you will know, my darling grandparents passed away within 19 days of each-other at the age of 88 years, reuniting in heaven as they had barely been apart for their 65 years of marriage.

The reason why this is our charity of choice is because it is so special to us; not only because our granddad spent 2 weeks there, but because the Walton team made those 2 weeks the best they could have been.

It is thanks to them that he had personal support, a carer by his side 24 hours of the day to ensure maximal comfort. Above all, it is thanks to them that he was able to pass comfortably. With nurses by his side holding his hand whilst we attended his wife, our grandma Joan’s funeral, he could reunite with her peacefully.

The Charity funds a variety of projects in the hospital including research, innovation, new technology and patient & family facilities.
We hope with your donations the Walton centre will be able to continue offering their utmost support and services to those who need it most.

Whilst my grandma will be sat there with a cup of tea in her chair thinking about how mad we are for doing this, we know my granddad will be saying ‘get it right…. It’s a long way to run… but bloody enjoy it!’ ❤️

Any support is greatly appreciated, and we hope to give back to the Walton centre a fraction of what they gave to us.

We would love for you to show your support on the 18th of May in Manchester - so come along and watch us run, walk or most likely crawl.

Thank you so much,
Meg, Cam, Hannah, Grace, Maeve, Max, Rob, Jack and all The O’Malley family 💙 Maeve O’Malley
