Pole Pole Geth Donate Our Geth had a massive stroke with complications and was taken to Liverpool for life saving surgery and care in ICU. It has been a lot. Being offered a quiet place to lay our heads and collect our thoughts by Home from Home was just the support we didn’t know we needed. (Link attached if you are able to support them.)‘Pole Pole’ became our motto (incredibly frustrating, roller coaster, aaarrrggghhhh, were other options) as hearing our Tanzanian fellow resident chuckling when our eldest said the words learnt on a trip, gave a much needed moment of levity & unity, at a very difficult & lonely time. Home from Home made this and other such connections & moments possible too. We cannot thank Anna enough for all she has done to literally accommodate us so we could be together in walking distance of him and support each other more easily - on one good day, he was even able to see his grandchild through the window.Today we are leaving the Home from Home bubble…he is out of ICU, we are getting there…still no idea where there is or what it looks like or will involve or how long, or, or, or…so Pole Pole - ‘Slowly Slowly’ Genevieve Hughes Manage Cookie Preferences
