I wish to run for the Walton Centre in order to give back to a trust that has changed my life for the better. In April last year I was struggling with my walking and was virtually paralyzed down one side of my body which significantly decreased my quality of life. I was eventually referred to The Walton Centre in May this year who immediately sent me for a scan. It revealed that I had a brain tumour, miraculously my tumour was operable. The Surgeons at the Walton Centre (Professor Brodbelt and Team) performed a 6-and-a-half-hour surgery and I had a blood transfusion to remove the tumour(the size of a tangerine). In less than three days, I was back on my feet walking as normal and all the movement down my left side was restored! I cannot thank the team enough and therefore would like to give back to the Walton Centre in any capacity I can. I am doing The Santa Dash for The Walton Centre for giving me back my life!
