Sian and Karl Burgess are walking throughout May in support of the Walton Neuro Centre who have been treating our daughter Sophie as she recovers from brain surgery.

On 4th Dec 24, we received the devastating news that Sophie had a brain tumour. Sophie was seen immediately by the team at Walton for tests and consultations and on 17 Jan, she underwent a serious operation to remove the tumour. Then began the long wait for Sophie to slowly recover and the outcome of the biopsy and histology, until we received the wonderful news on 26th Mar that the tumour was benign and no further treatment was required. Sophie is progressing amazingly well but it will take some time to fully recover.

Sian and Karl would like to take this opportunity to pay something back to the team at Walton Neuro Centre to say thank you. The consultant, the specialist nurses, the ward staff all do an amazing job and we are so lucky to have this facility on our doorstep. Karl Burgess
