Snowdon Hike raises more than £11,000 to support patients and families at The Walton Centre Our supporters reached new heights this past September as they took on the challenge of hiking Mount Snowdon, raising an incredible £11,000 (and counting!) to support staff, patients and families of The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust. The group of enthusiastic climbers braved the elements to reach the summit of Wales’ highest peak, guided safely to the top by specialised mountain guide Ray Dobie (Big World Treks), whose expertise ensured everyone could enjoy the climb with confidence. The event, coordinated by Community Fundraiser Anne Hodgson, brought together a diverse mix of supporters, including staff and students from the University of Liverpool, alongside dedicated community fundraisers and long-standing charity supporters. We wanted to also extend heartfelt thanks to all of those behind the scenes who contributed to the success of our event, including: The Sweet Mob, who generously provided chocolate medals for all the climbers, and Keikeis Cupcakes, who supplied delicious, sweet treats to celebrate the team’s achievement. A massive thanks also goes out to Y Ganolfan Community Centre for once again offering the use of their facilities for the event. Anne Hodgson, Community Fundraiser here at The Walton Centre Charity, said: “We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us for Hike Snowdon. The atmosphere on the day was incredible, and it was inspiring to see so many people come together in support of The Walton Centre Charity. Every step our hikers took helps make a real difference for our staff, patients and families.” Funds raised from the Hike Snowdon challenge will help enhance patient care, improve facilities, and support pioneering research at The Walton Centre, the UK’s only specialist neuroscience NHS Trust. The Walton Centre Charity would like to thank every supporter who took part, donated, or helped make the event possible.
