Thanks to the incredible generosity of patients, relatives, friends, and supporters of The Walton Centre Charity, this year’s Christmas campaign raised over £12,000.

A standout moment of this year’s campaign was the release of our first ever charity Christmas single, Next Christmas You’ll Be Home, written and performed by Sam Leonard and his band Idle Lies, featuring the lovely voices of Holy Name Primary School Choir. The single was created as a heartfelt thank you for the care and support the band’s friend, Dan Parsonage, received at The Walton Centre following a sudden brain haemorrhage and two subsequent, highly complex brain operations.

The single performed exceptionally well and gained fantastic attention, being featured across multiple news articles and even on the ITV Granada 6 o’clock News.

Alongside the single, the Christmas campaign saw another brilliant year of festive fundraising, including a hugely successful staff Christmas Jumper Day, strong sales of our Christmas cards, and our ever-popular Christmas raffle.

We were also overwhelmed by the generosity shown through donations from our regular supporters including Hafan Y Môr Owners Panto Club, Pam Griffiths, the Reay family, and HMS Dreadnought, whose kindness made a significant difference to the total raised.

All funds raised will go directly towards supporting our Home from Home accommodation, which provides a vital place for relatives to stay while their loved ones receive critical care at the hospital. Massive thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Campaign and helped make it such a success.

Home from Home

The Home from Home provides a place for relatives to stay while their loved ones are undergoing urgent or emergency treatment, rather than having to travel back and forth to their homes, sometimes at a moment’s notice and distressing and emotional times in their lives.

It costs approximately £20 per room per night to run this 8 bed unit, and this is covered by the charity to ensure our families can use the facilities for free.
